Below, you'll find information that will be useful in planning your visit and in deciding whether to make us your church home. If you are looking for a church or if you are curious about what the Bible says and how it applies to our world today, we invite you to join us on a Sunday morning. 

Grace Bible Church is a non-denominational, independent, Bible-teaching church located in Midlothian, Virginia. We have a plurality of men (elders) who work together to lead the church (Acts 14:23). We gather weekly as a congregation, by God's Grace, to worship and exalt Jesus Christ through the regular proclamation and teaching of the Bible, singing of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, praying together, and fellowship. 

What should I expect the first time I attend GBC?

The main entrance to the church building faces the parking lot entrance, right as you turn in off Sovereign Grace Drive. You can find additional handicapped parking spots on the east side of the building. These spaces are most accessible by wheelchair through the side door, right into the worship center. 

Greeters are at the entrances to assist you, so please feel free to ask them any questions. In the foyer, you will find some coffee/tea, which is provided to encourage everyone to engage in conversation before and after the services. As you enter the Worship Center, visit the "sound booth" if you would like a hearing assistance device.  

What is the music like?

Our corporate musical worship is a combination of hymns, contemporary songs, and full complement of instruments. The songs we sing are theologically rich and allow God’s people to praise Him.

What is Expository Preaching?

A 45-minute expositional sermon dominates our worship service. We gather to hear from Christ, and we do so as we open and teach His Word. “Expository preaching” derives its meaning and content from the Scripture passage. Often we teach consecutively through books of the Bible chapter by chapter, verse by verse. We firmly believe that the word of God is alive and active (Hebrews 4:12) and preaching should reflect that. We hope you’ll find our messages to be thoughtful, penetrating, insightful, applicable, and convicting because that is what God’s word seeks to accomplish in our lives.

How should I dress?

You’ll find the style of dress at Grace Bible Church to range from suits and ties to jeans and sandals. The point is that we want everyone who desires to worship our great God to feel welcome as they are.

What about my children?

During the corporate Worship Service (9:30am-10:45 a.m.), there are children’s classes for ages five years old and younger. Though entirely optional, these children’s classes offer a safe place for kids to be watched and taught the Scriptures, while the congregation engages in the worship service with limited distractions.

But, we love having children join us in our services too. So, for children and families all staying in the worship service, Grace provides a few different ‘in-service’ helps. We prepare “kid’s clipboards,” that are directly related to that morning’s sermon, so that young people can follow along. We also have dedicated seating that is specially designated for families with small children along the back walls of the worship center. Our nursing mother’s room is conveniently located right off the side doors of the worship center and will have a live feed of the service. We also are marking off an area of the foyer, directly accessible to the worship center, for parents who need to briefly step out with their children. We want to be as helpful and considerate as we can for our young families, joining the service.

Will I be asked for money?

We do not pass a plate at Grace Bible Church. We believe that giving is between you and the Lord. We have several small, black offering boxes along the back walls of the Worship Center, in addition to online giving. What each worshipper gives is held in confidence – and is only known to the Treasurers of GBC.

What do you have for visitors?

As a visitor to Grace, we invite you to stop at the Visitor Table in the Foyer, where you will be greeted by church leadership, who can help answer questions about the service or our church. We also want to give you a free book to thank you for worshipping with us.

WHAT ABOUT BIBLE CLASSES FOR KIDS or ADULTS?

In addition to our corporate worship service, we stay together after service for Bible instruction and classes. We call this time “Equipping Hour” (11:15am-12:15 p.m.), based on Ephesians 4:12, "to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” Bible instruction and application form the emphasis of this hour together, and we host classes for all ages. Children 10 years old and younger each have a Bible Class, separated by grades. Grace holds separate youth classes, for Middle and High School age groups. And then, adults can participate in one of several Adult classes.
