Frequently Asked Questions
About the Website |
How come the graphics don't show up when I browse the site from my home computer? Check your firewall settings. They may be too restrictive.
How often are the announcements updated? Announcements are updated every week, usually on Thursday or Friday.
Why are the sermon and Sunday school audio files not available at a higher bit rate? Originally we published the audio files at 32 kbps because we didn't have much space on our server. If there is enough demand, we may publish them at a higher bit rate.
How do I get an item posted to the calendar? For now, please contact June McCall at gbcadmin@att.net with your calendar item.
Whom can I contact with questions, comments, suggestions, or complaints about the website? Please either contact one of the elders directly or email webmaster@gracebiblerichmond.org.
How do I get my picture on the website? By being at the right place at the right time. We are constantly taking pictures and updating the photos on the website and we do our best to show a varied cross section of folks who attend Grace Bible Church. Smiley people who look like they are enjoying fellowship with other believers have a leg up in terms of getting pictured on the site.
I don't want my picture on the site. How do I get it taken down? If you or someone in your family is in a picture on the site and for whatever reason you feel that it is inappropriate, please contact webmaster@gracebiblerichmond.org and we will replace it with another picture.
What sort of system is the website hosted on? The GBC website is built using open-source tools and is hosted on a server running Linux. If you want to know all the geeky details, please contact the webmaster.
Do you do your own hosting? No. We use a third-party ISP.
Can I get my personal website hosted on the church's web server? No. We have no plans to provide personal web space under our current hosting arrangement.
I noticed that there are email addresses with the "gracebiblerichmond.org" domain. What can I do to get one? For now, if you feel you need to have a church email account, please contact one of the elders directly.
I've got some web development skills. Can I help with the site? There are always tasks to be done, and the folks who maintain the site do get sick and take vacations and business trips and aren't always available. So it's useful to have backup. If you think you might be able to contribute to the GBC web team, please contact webmaster@gracebiblerichmond.org.
